Choosing a Digital Printing Machine for Your Business
Source:ZS Machinery Time:2016-08-16 Click:66 Times
Choosing a digital printing machine for a business is a commercial decision as much as a technical one.
Start from the order book. What is the typical order size, the typical design complexity and the delivery time your customers expect? A machine that suits a sample studio is not the machine for a factory running thousands of metres.
Match print width to your market. Printing wider than you need costs money; printing narrower than your core product means turning work away.
Look at total running cost. Ink price per litre, head life, paper cost and the labour needed all matter more over three years than the purchase price does.
Check what happens when it stops. Ask how quickly heads and spare parts arrive, and whether remote support is available in your time zone.
Plan the whole line. A digital printer on its own does not produce printed fabric – you also need transfer paper and a transfer machine, matched to the printer's inks and profiles.
